After a long and devastating civil war, Liberians are now working on rebuilding their all mayor sectors within their society – including the agricultural sector. Liberia is an economically poor country, but it is also a country rich on resources and people who wish to take an active role in improving their own situation. The tools and opportunities with which to do this, however, are severely lacking. There is therefore a significant need for projects and initiatives, that give Liberians opportunities to do something active to help themselves. It is such opportunities that Liberity Agriculture wishes to offer.

Liberity Agriculture will be grounded in the Liberian society and the program will thus be based on two fundamental principles: The fundamental Christian values and Liberia’s unique cultural heritage. Through a close cooperation with the Lutheran Church in Liberia, we will seek to meet the needs and interests of Liberians. Based on these principles, we want to play a role in creating positive and sustainable development in Liberia.

Liberity Agriculture is an extensive agricultural program that focuses on society as a whole. If one wants to create positive and long-term development in Liberia, it is necessary to have an integrated effort that aims at changing society as a whole. It is not enough to focus one’s attention on isolated aspects of civil society, but one must try to affect many different aspects of society simultaneously.
